As a manufacturing company, we recognise that there's no way to avoid the reality that our energy consumption can be substantial. Therefore, it is important for us to ensure our impact on the climate is as low as possible. One straightforward way to start tackling this is to make sure the energy we use to power our factory and all our machinery comes from green energy sources.
Our Commitment to Green Energy
We are fortunate enough to have a solar panel array in place on our roof, but the bulk of our energy consumption has to come from external providers. It was important for us to choose a supplier who aligned with our goal to minimise our environmental impact as much as possible.
After looking into UK green energy suppliers, we decided to sign up with Ecotricity, a green energy company that has a clear commitment to the renewable sector in the UK.
Renewable Energy Provider Pledge
- Ecotricity provides 100% green gas and electricity. Their electricity comes from both the sun and wind.
- 20% of this energy is generated by Ecotricity themselves and the rest is certified green energy they purchase from other green generators or through the wholesale market.
- Ecotricity also invests in building new wind and sun parks across the country which is increasing the amount of renewables in Britain, rather than only trading green energy that already exists.
- They are always researching and developing newer, bigger and more efficient ways to generate sustainable electricity and their goal is to entirely replace electricity made by burning fossil fuels.
Supporting Wind Energy Innovation
As long-standing suppliers to the wind energy industry, we fully support new investment into the industry. The installation of modern turbine arrays and the ongoing upkeep needed for optimal energy production and reliability are increasingly vital as we strive for a net-zero future.
Elevating Wind Power Solutions
Our product range includes both new parts for wind turbines and a full refurbishment service for rubber/metal component products across the wind energy industry. We are continually working to further develop the methods and techniques for refurbishment of parts, and welcome the opportunity to discuss any novel refurbishment opportunities that become available.
You can find further information on our refurbishment service here https://www.aegisrubber.co.uk/12-refurbishment or contact us for an initial discussion on your specific project.
